Where is Sainte Pazanne?

Situated in the west of France, just below Brittany, in the Loire Alantique - Pays de Retz province. It has a population of over 3,000.

The west of the region borders the Atlantic Ocean - a really lovely area with pretty fishing ports and nice beaches. The northern boundary is the Loire river.

Sainte Pazanne is easily accessible. A two and a half-hour drive from the ferry port of St. Malo or by public transport - direct flights from Gatwick to Nantes or by Eurostar to Nantes.

The centre of the town is dominated by an outstanding Neogothic Church, built between 1880 to 1898 from local white stone. A youngster in comparison to Harrold Church (1270 - 1480) but still very impressive

A short drive from Sainte Pazanne is the beautiful fishing village of Pornic where fresh sea food is really good and is also reasonably priced.
Being rural the area has very little industry and is mainly agricultural. However, the village is well known for its embroidery factory which produces fine detail embroidery for special hat badges and emblems. Examples are displayed in Harrold Centre.

There are a number of local vineyards which produce several different types of wine -
Gros-Plant – a fine dry white wine
Muscadet – a delicate dry white wine
Chardonnay – a character dry white wine
Grolleau – a fruity Rosé wine
Gamay & Cabernet - delicate and fruity red wines
