Harrold is in OUSE VALLEY DISTRICT, and is home to a thriving Scout Group.
The Group contains 3 sections –
| BEAVER SCOUTS | for youngsters aged 6 to 8 years old |
| CUB SCOUTS | for 8 to 10 ½ year olds |
| SCOUTS | for 10½ to 14 years old |
In addition, Ouse Valley District runs
an EXPLORER SCOUT
Unit, for 14 to 18 year olds; their training includes learning the skills needed
to be a Young Leader.
The young people in all Sections follow a balanced programme,
based on 6 Programme Zones; each Zone represents a different area of Scouting.
The Zones are “Scoutcraft & Adventure”, “Global”,
“Community”, “Fit For Life”, “Creative Expression”
and “Exploring Beliefs & Attitudes”. In addition, the youngsters
are set Challenges and earn Awards according to their ages and abilities.
Young people join Scouting to have FUN, learn new skills, and develop those
they already have!
There are also openings for adults in Scouting locally, in
a variety of roles – helpers, skill instructors, leaders and administration.
Adults will be welcome whether they can spare 2 hours a week … or month
… or even only 2 hours a year.
In return, Scouting can offer lots of fun, appropriate training and large amounts
of “job satisfaction”!
