Police Report
Harrold and Carlton with Chellington Parishes
November 2008
Crime Overview
Since the 1st October 2008 a total of seven crimes have been reported in Harrold Parish. This was down from ten in 2007. The crimes recorded were three theft from motor vehicles, two criminal damages, a theft of motor vehicle and a burglary non dwelling. There has been an increase in rural crime in the last two months with a large number of outbuildings being broken into. Fortunately, Harrold has not been targeted at this time. However, a recent burglary at a local farm where a large quantity of diesel was taken indicated thieves are active in the area and looking for properties to attack. Carlton Parish has only had one offence recorded since 1st October 2008. This again is down from five in 2007. The offence reported was a theft from motor vehicle. All residents are advised to remove valuables from vehicles or where they cannot be removed ensure they are secured out of sight.
Anti-Social Behaviour
Anti-social behaviour remains low throughout the two parishes. Just one report was received in Harrold in relation to a disturbance outside a local public house. In Carlton two reports were received and are being dealt with. None of the anti-social behaviour related to vehicles.
Priorities
Across the Safer Neighbourhood Team area which covers the wards of Carlton, Harrold, Riseley and Sharnbrook, consultation has taken place with the public to identify priorities which the Police and other agencies can work together on to resolve. The three priorities being addressed until at least the 21stJanuary 2009 are:
Vehicle Nuisance - including speeding and parking
Nuisance youths and gangs
Drugs – fear of use and supply
If you have any thoughts on these priorities or areas where you feel these matters are a problem please contact the Neighbourhood Team.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Allan Taylor PCSO 4643
